Origin
and nature of the Nestlé Nutrition Fund (NNF): twelve years
promoting nutrition
Mission
The
Nestlé Nutrition Fund (NNF) has as its mission to contribute
to improving nutrition in Mexico by supporting scientific research,
training top level professionals, and disseminating information
related to nutrition.
To
accomplish its mission, the NNF promotes four lines of action:
1. Strengthening
nutritional education in Mexico’s medical schools and
faculties, in coordination with the Mexican Association of Medical
Schools and Faculties (Spanish acronym AMFEM).
2. Scientific divulgation through the Nestlé Conference
on Nutrition, organized biannually. This event has been held
since 1996 and its results are published in the international
magazine Nutrition Reviews.
3. Program of nutritional orientation for the Mexican population.
Applied research to encourage better dietary habits and physical
activity.
4. Development of the NNF’s virtual scientific library
with up-to-date resources in the field of nutrition.
