FUNSALUD 1999: 1-60.

Presentation

The Nestle Fund for Nutrition, alongside with the Mexican Association of Medicine Faculties and Schools have developed for several years different activities to promote nutrition teaching at medicine faculties and schools in Mexico.

The organization of a Ciclo de Seminarios, dealing with medical "nutriology", is one of these activities. The purpose of the seminaries is to divulge medical "nutriology" topics that can be of interest to general medics, with an emphasis on training teachers at medicine schools. The seminaries have thrown out positive results as regards assistance and dissemination of the presented knowledge. Their success is due to a combination of factors: on the one hand there's the close relationship between the interests in Nutriology and the interests in medical specialties, thanks to a joint organization with the respective Medical Associations, and on the other hand, the dissemination made possible by the divulging bodies of each society.

The financial and logistic support is supplied by the NNF alongside with Nestle Mexico S.A. de C.V.

The fourth seminary took place on April 24 1994, with the kind support of the Mexican Association of Gastroenterology, A.C. It was about Clinic nutriology in gastrointestinal diseases.
